Bio Chowning was born when a two-ton Alaskan salmon met up with the living embodiment of Truth near the oil wells on Pennsylvania Avenue halfway between Hell and Okarche. He was raised by dead raccoons and silence. Chowning, who’s real name is Robert Garland Weaver, and who only revealed that because he feels that it is sweet and fitting that he honor his fortune cookie that reads “It is always proper to tell the truth,” has next to no ability to create tolerable visual art. He understands that you may take issue with this and define “art” in new and interesting ways to make him feel better, but he’ll save you the time and cut right to the meat and potatoes of the matter: he’s a talentless hack. He’s been known to pick a song or two, and once wrote hellacious death-poems dedicated to the glory that is life, unlife, and the headshots in between. Through an amazing bond with his heterosexual life-partner, Mr. H&Ns, Chowning joined the KND in February of 2008. Otherwise he probably wouldn’t even have bothered sharing any of his soul droppings with anyone. Are we better as a society for this turn of events? Chowning, when interviewed about this for Harper’s Weekly, had this to say on the subject: “There was a time when a man wasn’t afraid of his chin. His double chin, his double life. Words can’t describe the feeling of cutting a pig with a knife, the way it wiggles around and squirms out a sound. I’ll tweet and I’ll hum, but this is sweet bubble gum!” Chowning was later sued for plagiarism. If you want him to write you a heartfelt ditty
or a tender love story, you can reach him @ skowl@hotmail.com, or via
the Myspace links above. |
